Wasn’t January a long drawn out month? So glad we chose a relaxing start to the year with the January Tai Chi, but we couldn’t have had a more different February meeting with a trip back to the 1950’s.
Back to the 50’s
Our February meeting took us back to the Fifties. With music, dancing and a Beetle Drive, of course some of us dressed for the occasion.
We had Pink Ladies, bobby soxers and rock n roll, some of our members made their outfits and they looked fab.
We had a themed raffle, we’ve been doing this since last year and Pauline who organises raffle prizes always finds some fun items.
The Beetle Drive was new to some of us. Drawing our beetles according to the throw of a dice. This is something we can definitely recreate to play at home. Instead of the Playstation let’s take the family back to the 1950’s too.
Thanks to our member Sharon who captures some fab images, we had a mini photo booth with the car which was a great idea by Maria.
Every month our committee members excel themselves when translating the month’s theme into an entertaining evening. Not only do we have great fun we always learn something too, which is what the Women’s Institute is about.
Next month we have Runcorn History Society with the origins of our WI nickname The Ferry Girls.
