As we headed through Autumn and the year came to an end our last few meetings were a celebration. Making poppies for remembrance to celebrate the lives of those who fought for us, our AGM celebrating our year at WI and then our Christmas party a time to celebrate with friends.
At our October meeting we learnt about the help and support given by The Royal British Legion and the work they do with ex-service personnel.
All about Remembrance. We heard from Sandra and Denise about how the Royal British Legion support not only veterans but serving military personnel and their families. We made poppies for the Old Town Bloomers Garden and for a wreath to lay on Remembrance Sunday.
November was our AGM, although an ‘admin’ meeting our Secretary Janet ensured it was fun with an interactive quiz relating to the past year’s events.
December was our social Christmas get together. Held locally at The War Memorial club we had a disco, karaoke and game of Play Your Cards Right. With plenty of food and drink this set us up for a great fun night. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it and thanks to Ken for his dj skills.
Thanks to the Committee and all our Members for making it another fun and memorable year.
